Edelbrock Pro Flo 3 Fuel Injection

Hi guys, I'm new here but have been lurking for about a year. I have a 1970 Chevelle with a TKO 600 and a built 540 with 10:1 compression, Merlin 320cc rectangular port heads, and mechanical roller camshaft 653 intake/660 exhaust lift, high rise single plane manifold, and quick fuel 850 dp carburetor.

It runs like a raped ape but I am thinking about going to fuel injection to help with smoothness, and better idle.

I have electric fans and vintage air. The most annoying thing is the idle. When the AC kicks on the idle will drop from 1000 to near 600. Also sometimes the engine wants to idle high, around 1500 without air and 1200 with.

My questions are:

1. Have you guys who switched to FI, have you noticed a smoother running engine?

2. Has anyone installed the Proflo 3?

3. Anyone have buyers remorse after going FI?

Thanks

Just got my pro flo system, but won't be installing for a couple weeks. I went with the proflo XT manifold. I recommend downing the etuner app and playing with demo mode. That's what kinds swayed my decision, plus my buddy has proflo 2 and it worked great!

Re: Edelbrock Pro Flo 3 Fuel Injection

do you have vacuum advance? if so, is it hooked to manifold or ported vacuum? If you're street driving you need vacuum advance.

Does the baseplate of your carb have two small threaded holes just inside of and behind the left front bolt hole? If so, you could run a cheap idle solenoid to fix the idle speed drop issue. About $40, somewhat less than a new EFI system.
