Went back to Drag Strip last week, Larry Larson has been racing in a Series against the local racers and the Track Staff had done a top job of preparing the track, decided to go all out, hired a trailer so wouldn't have to be changing tires out there in Summer heat, also decided to drop the rear exhaust and fit some extensions, had acquired some slightly used slicks as last pair were cactus.
Conditions in the Afternoon/Evening were 82 degrees & 51% humidity, first run resulted in 11.415 @ 126.77, a pickup of over 3mph since previous best, however the 2 second 60' time was a downer, just unloaded tires hard, I put the increase in MPH down to fact a couple of months ago had a Happy Laps event at local raceway, was able to make multiple passes down straight giving ECU plenty of time to learn under WOT conditions, resulted in PB for splits over rear 3/4 of strip.
Dropped some air out of Slicks and altered Launch Retard from MSD Programmable and headed back to Staging Lanes, however the next three runs were all dismal, kept going lean & falling over, gave time in between runs to cool down, had 1/2 tank of fuel in tank from Tank Inc which features internal baffling & fuel tray so don't believe that is issue, back in the pits with car stationary was getting 58psi at idle however when increasing RPM the Fuel Pressure was dropping by 10-15psi.
Have done a Free Flow test on Pump and was bang on 340LPH, have contacted FiTech but did not offer any valid reasons or fixes, at this stage I am planning on replacing the Internal Regulator on Throttle Body, if that does not fix issue will replace Fuel Pump.
