Epoxy paint.

Buy two colors, mask off your design and paint it.

We did the shop floors in 2000 and the paint is still durable and holding well.

We bought two colors, used a roller and taped a design onto the roller. When we rolled the roller the design was transferred to the floor.

You could do this in squares, if you wanted a checkerboard design, or tape out a chevy symbol etc.

You must etch the cement before you put Epoxy down.

You must buy good Epoxy.

You must mix it properly.

Be creative...I will never use anything other than Epoxy.

Oh yea...and a simple lacquer thinner rag cleans up everything. Doesn't hurt the epoxy.

New oil is cheaper than new parts

Yes, I would want some "grit" in whatever topcoat was applied.

Re: Race Deck Garage Floor - Thoughts?

Update: great info - thanks. I received a sample kit from RaceDeck....they look nice and click together super easy.... I have been walking on them in the garage and not sure I like that plastic sound.....wonder how the garage will sound if fully decked... great point about spills being trapped under the tiles- that bothers me....also not being able to use jack stands, floor jacks would be a non-starter for me.....

ok.....so is it relatively easy to put another coat of epoxy on top of the existing coat? Can I just scuff up the floor and re-apply? The floor is clean, and I don't have any bad stains. I just didn't roll on the epoxy thick enough is some places and you can see the difference....I used Shield-Crete from Sherwin Williams.

Re: Race Deck Garage Floor - Thoughts?

I used a commercial grade glue down VCT tile. Besides applying a coat of wax once a year or so, its low maintenance, cleans up easy and its inexpensive. Maybe cost $600 to do a 16x32 area. The other half of the shop is just epoxy painted where I work
