Had one many years ago. Fun little car. I'd own another one as long as its a '76 with the 5 spd. though.

Re: 75 Cosworth Vega 11K

too bad emissions standards neutered it. it would have been great with the originally planned engine configuration.

as it was sold it was a whole lot slower than my Saturn, which isn't exactly a speed demon. but at least the twin cam engine had potential if one chose to hot rod it.

I guess they were pretty good in autocross though.

As usual, Andy is right
If it doesn't fit, force it. If it breaks, it needed to be replaced anyway.

Re: 75 Cosworth Vega 11K

My first car in 1978 was a 1974 Vega when I was a Sophomore in High School. Looked just like the one for sale. Mine was the GT version. It was Red with Black Stripes and it had a 4-speed with bucket seats. Mine did not have the Cosworth engine though.

I did have to rebuild the engine after about six months. My uncle knew where to get a short block with steel sleeves. Ran great for a little 4-cylinder after the rebuild, and it was fun to drive.

Lots of good memories of that car. The hatchback was great! I had a girlfriend back then who liked to lay the backseat down and do the backseat rhythm. The girl had rhythm, the backseat rhythm.

Late in my Senior year I traded cars with a guy who had a 67' Chevelle SS. It was also red. Man, I wish I still had both of those cars. I had a great time back then!

AC/DC Girl's got rhythm off their Highway to Hell Album 1979.

same HP in the Cosworth as I had in my 1971 Vega GT back in the day. I do not understand the description, I am guessing it does not run, and if so why did they not have it repaired under warranty back then?

Car was probably out of warranty. Cars back then only came with a 12/12 warranty.

I think the price is in the ballpark if its a true 11k mile car with documentation and the condition reflects that. If it does have a couple of bent valves and the rest of the engine is good....that should be a pretty inexpensive fix.

Tough sale even if it had no issues. 6k is top dollar for a '75, the '76 models bring a little more money.
