You'd be suprised at just what you can buy at RV closeout stores and other trailer supply stores. Just because something is illegal in one circumstance doesn't mean it isn't legal in another. Black versions were available from the AMC (Rambler dealer) parts counter for years.

The only reason someone would want insurance is if they want to pay someone elses bills or want someone else to pay their bills.

BIGOT is a word used by people that can't use logical reasoning to prove that you are wrong when you don't agree with them.

I think a lot depends on the state as well. At least it was in Michigan several years ago to even have them in your possession unless you were an authorized repair shop.

They used to be sold on Hemmings all the time and when I asked them about it they agreed it was a "gray area" but until they were told to stop taking the ads, they'd continue them. There used to be a MoPar guy that sold them openly on the Internet at cudajunction.com but that site now seems to be down.

It's not illegal because there is proof round rivets came out of the factory. They cannot make the sale of round rivets illegal so the sale of rossette rivets would never hold up in court. Contrary to popular belief in here there are people that use them in restorations and are not using them to be dishonest.

Got that right, better to keep your mouth closed and be thought a fool than to open it and remove all doubt.
