Intro 67 Chevelle

Been here a little while. Would like to introduce myself and the Chevelle. I purchased it in August for $500.00 and so the project begins. No rendering it is in my head. The finished car will be tutone Red on top, Black on bottom. Black leather interior with Red stitching. 454 with 4 speed. No name yet any ideas?

Frame striped acid etched and painted Chassis Black.

Floor of the car is good so cleaned, sanded acid etched primed and painted.

Rebuilt the rear end. Installed limited slip, C3 Fab adjustable control arms, UMI control arm braces, Sway bar, rear end housing bushings, brake and fuel lines.

Front end installed. New tubular upper and lower control arms, 2" dropped spindles, 13" rotors with c5 brakes, inner outer tie rods, shocks and sway bar.

Smoothed firewall in Primer

18" X 8" Chrome Boss 338 up front

20" X 10" in the rear

Next will be replace both rear quarter panels. Coming along one paycheck at a time.

Looks like you're off to a very good start, Travis! Two-tone is a great choice, IMO, but maybe black over red. Darker color on top may have more appeal but natually it's your choice. Many newer 'sportier' cars are opting for two-tone interiors such as black with red inserts. Something to think about instead of just red stitching.

A nice black over red example is the Mothers' polish 67 El Camino seen here.

Re: Intro 67 Chevelle

How about if you do a flat or semi gloss on top with glossy paint on bottom? That would be a twist on the two tone look.

I drive...a 65

looks great, I love the idea of the black and red two tone, but like what Dale said I think the black on top looks the best, but I'm sure it will still look sweet the other way around

Re: Intro 67 Chevelle

I run the C3 Fab stuff myself for the rear suspension. Mike and Kosh are good guys. Great workmanship. Can't support them enough.

Good luck on your build!

Re: Intro 67 Chevelle

Looking really good.

I notice your most recent pictures are dated February of 2008.
Have you done anything else with the car in the past two years?

Regards,
-Greg

The paint on the bottom of the car is the same as the frame Matrix Chassis Black.

Re: Intro 67 Chevelle

I would assume they are close. Not sure though the old a arms have the drum spindle still attached.
