Cig Lighter removal & wires?

Bet it’s easy. Wiring is disconnected. How do you remove the assembly? And - is the black wire a factory ground that I could use for aftermarket head unit & amp? Thanks

Once the wires are off, unscrew the sleeve (from behind the dash) which is screwed onto the lighter socket and it should come out.

Finding out why you said “should” & included the winking emogee, Claude. Hope my lug nuts are screwed on as tight as the lighter is.

The orange is a constant hot, and the black is the ground.

I used the word "should" because with these old cars, sometimes things which are normally simple don't always end up being as simple as we first thought they'd be… and the emogee was for…well…"good luck" in removing it.

Got it. I wasn’t holding my tongue right, I guess. It’s not quite round anymore, but I’m not going to use it anyway. Thanks!
