Starter sol. wire hook-up?

Hey,
Does anyone know off the top of the head the starter sol. wiring? 2 wires yellow and purple go to "S" and "R". I took it apart about 10 years ago and can't quite remember. lol. Thanks

The yellow wire goes toward the outside (R) of the car. Purple toward the engine side (S)....

The purple activates the solenoid (S) and the yellow runs from the solenoid to the coil to provide 12v at start (R).

And the yellow wire is not even needed if using a HEI distributor or any electronic ignition with a full 12V (non-resistive) supply.

As for the yellow wire. I bought this harness for an HEI from American Auto Wire.

then no need to hook up the yellow wire to anything, just tape it back in the harness.
