66 396 temperature gauge

How do you install a gauge if there Isn't a place on a 66 bb 396 to put it? Help. Spent three days looking for a port that didn't exist

Should be a port right above the oil filter. Duh, I can`t read.

Since 66's didn't have the holes drilled in the heads, the temperature gauge sending unit was in the intake manifold.

Sounds like someone installed a later model intake.

Like Dean said, the sending unit location was in the intake manifold, on the driver's side near the thermostat housing.

1967 El Camino, 408 BBC, TH400... the hole in the garage I throw money in.

That's exactly where I put it on mine. The idiot light was useless.
