MAGNETIC timing tab question--'92 5.7L

I'm dealing with a 5.7 liter crate engine for an early-'90's Caprice; I'm trying to verify ignition timing using a Snap-On LumyMag II magnetic timing probe.

The timing indicator on the timing chain cover has a holder for the magnetic probe; it's offset from the "0" mark by some amount. I don't have the instruction book for the LumyMag, and so I don't know the correct amount of offset to enter into the LumyMag so the digital readout is calibrated.

By comparing the LumyMag to my ordinary timing light, I'm thinking that the correct offset amount is 10 degrees.

Can anyone confirm that 10 degrees is correct? Is that a common amount for Chevy engines when using the magnetic probes? Do other engines use a different amount of offset?
