Hi, I have a 68 Chevelle that I bought that has a 68 Malibu front clip that was supposdly transplanted from a station wagon. I bought a used grille and misc. moldings on ebay for it. My question is, the eyebrow moldings (run at an angle down the front side of the front fender in front of the wheel) I got on ebay are a couple inches shorter and do not have the same bevel to them. They look very similar but are like miniature in size. Could these be from a 300 deluxe or el camino or is the malibu station wagon front end I have an oddball? I plan on using new fenders up front when money allows and I want to be sure I have the correct molding. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks, Marc

I believe the short eyebrow mouldings for 68 were used only on the 300 series. I may be mistaken, but that is the only way I have seen them. If your front clip is from a Malibu, you should find additional holes immediately in front of the front wheel openings to accommodate the longer eyebrow mouldings. This long eyebrow on the Malibu is the same as those used on the SS as well. A word of warning, however. Be advised when shopping swap meets, Ebay, etc., that the long eyebrow mouldings for 68 and 69 are very similar but absolutely not interchangeable.

Sounds like you've latched onto a 68 300 molding.
There were 4 different eyebrow moldings for 68-9.
None of them are the same and they do not interchange.
68's start further down the headlight bezel than 69's.
The 68 and 69 Malibu moldings look similar, but are much different.
The correct molding for your car goes all the way to the tire.
