67 Bench 4spd Floor Hump

HI , I am changing a column shift 3 spd to a 4 spd floor shift bench seat . I have the cast chrome part that goes above the carpet but need the tin floor hump . Has anyone here had success finding the correct piece ? Ausley's sold me one that is not even close to fitting .
Thanks

Im glad Im not the only one with the same issue. I bought one from one of the restoration places and like you, not even close for a 66. I tried pounding it, forming it. Finally got fed up and installed a bigger shift boot and called it a day. I think I saw the twisted piece of tin on my shop table the other day. No idea why I even kept it. jim

Re: 67 Bench 4spd Floor Hump

Not sure about "67" but as far as I know from all the research I've done the "66" uses the same tunnel hump for all floor shift applications, three speed, four speed and auto trans. Most vendors list the wrong one for the Chevelle,I think the tall one they sell is for Pontiac and Buick A bodys of this era. Order the shallow one listed for the floor shift automatic and you should be good to go,thats what I did on my"66" and it fit the tunnel perfectly. If you search the forums on this site you'll find plenty of info and pic's on this issue. Good Luck.

Re: 67 Bench 4spd Floor Hump

I fabbed one up for my '67 auto to 5 speed conversion. Fairly easy and works great. I ran into the same issues with factory reproductions that didn't fit. Then again, I had to slightly modify the tunnel for the trans to fit.

The sheet metal hump for a 4 speed bench is different from others as you have found out. I don't believe it is being reproduced but I could be wrong.
