700R4 builder in Texas

Any experience with the following builders?

Phoenix Transmission in Ft. Worth

Bulldog Transmission in San Antonio

'66 SS 396 #'s match/ POP - Aztec Bronze / Bronze Interior
'66 SS 454 Cortez Silver / Maroon Interior
'37 Chevy Coupe 235 Straight 6 - Cabana Cream`
'55 Chevy Gasser - 427, 4 speed

You might check with one of the members here who is from TX, does get involved with transmissions, and goes by the username here of jakeshoe. He usually seems pretty helpful.

Phoenix is a reputable company.

I've never heard of Bulldog but that doesn't mean anything good or bad.

What are you looking for? Rebuild your trans or buy a built unit? Combo?

Jake built my 200-4R. Top notch guy and work. I'm pretty sure he does 700-R4's if that what you want. You might look at a 200 with that big block torque.

Buy a built unit.

781 heads milled to 119 cc
9.5 -1 compression

3.08 open rear

I've had my Phoenix 700r4 since 1999. Great transmission builders and excellent customer service.
