Auto Gear muncies

Hey guys, I was just looking at the pricing for a complete trans from auto gear and I was wondering if there is something I'm missing!? How are their prices so low for the trans? On ebay, m-22's go for $1500+ and you just get a "semi" rebuilt trans! Has anyone used auto gears complete trans? I know their super cases and mid plates are highly recommended.

Re: Auto Gear muncies

I have a Brand new Autogear M22W sitting in my Garage waiting to go into my 71 Chevelle. Appendix operation set me back a few weeks.
Factory GM M22's are just expensive. Some guys luck out and find one for almost free.

Re: Auto Gear muncies

I think the guys that pay big bucks for originals either want the original numbers for restorations or don't realize that a complete new M22 (or M20, M21, M22W, etc.) is available. There is no sense in buying a 40 year old transmission if you don't care about the numbers, unless you get it cheap enough.
