Re: turbo 400 2-3 shift problem

Try to wind it out in manual second then manual shift it into third. If it does shift eventually it's the modulator or the detent solenoid. Give me some more diagnosis data and maybe I can help you out. Personally it sounds like a stuck 2-3 shift valve to me.

Thumbs up Re: turbo 400 2-3 shift problem

Yes I already tried that and it didnt work. What happened was that I was at the drag strip I made 2 passes and on the third pass is when it started. Took it home unloaded it from the trailer went down the street and it worked fine. Few days later, I drove it again and again no 3rd gear.
Tranny is a raptor 400 about 3 years old but only 800 miles on it.Not a manual valve body.I currently have tranny out and on my workbench.
The valves in the valve body did seem like they may have been sticking.
While I have it apart any ideas you have will be helpful.I dont want to spend much money.I drive it on the street rarely mostly to car shows. Also run it at the drag strip just to out run my buddies and any ford that gets beside me.

Go fast or drive a ford..
