How much should a rebuild on a 4L80E cost?

Just thinking. I bought an ex Ryder/moving truck for the 454 and it has a bad trans. It only has first and reverse.

If I pull it out and take it to some one heck maybe if I buy the parts and a shift kit. Put in all the good clutches and such because I may use it down the road in a Chevelle.

We are moving next fall and my lil sister will be moving in May.

I'm not very deep into the whole 3500 GMC van chassis and the box is in nice shape.

What do you think?

Or I could sell the engine 454/4L80E fuel injected combo.

1966 Chevelle wagon, 408 SB, 3.73 12 bolt, 700R4, 12" discs front 10" rear.

1968 GMC 3 door Suburban C10 454 4L80E EFI

i know around here their getting $1200/1500 to rebuild one, anytime you have an o/d trans, the price goes up
