Hey guys just wondering if a factory idiot light dash harness from my 70 SS can be used with tach and gauges?

Yes, it can, but you will need to add three wires. Two for the amp gauge and one for the tach.

Do you have a link to a schematic? I would appreciate any help,I bought a new engine harness, for tach and gauges, then realized my car came with idiot lights and the tach and gauges in the dash came out of a 71-72.

I am confused. You do not want to use your new harness?

Re: Idiot lights to tach, gauges

You can use a 70,71, or 72 gauge cluster with a 70 harness. The only real difference is the white numbers/ letters verses the 70 green tint numbers/ letters.

Re: Idiot lights to tach, gauges

I bought the car in pieces, never thinking to look at the color of the letters on the gauges I assumed they were original,so when I bought the engine harness I purchased one for gauges, but then realized after looking at my build sheet the car came with idiot lights.
