Looking for 1972 gas gauge

I cant seem to find one that fits my car. Its a 1972 chevelle malibu 4 door w/350. Its model number is AC 6431324 I think. None of the usual sites/mags seems to carry it and a googl search does not find it. REplaced 3 tank sensors and still does not work right. has to be the gauge after teh 3rd one doesnt work in it. Only reads 1/4 tank at full.

Anyone know where I can get one. Looks like this one

I occassionally see N.O.S. ones on eBay.

Are you really sure the gauge is bad? Did you do the ground/open ground test on it??

it read full then empty when I tried this. So I bought a new sensor thinking it was sensor.

Replaced 2 new sensors that read 90 ohms. And I checked them and they worked fine on an ohm meter. 0-90 ohms. ut when connected the gas gauge only would go to 1/4 tank when full. Replaced the line also.

So it has to be the gauge.

Did you ever get this fuel gage problem resolved? I have the same issue and can't find a gage.

Is this for a sweep or round gauge?

Hi Richard,

Welcome to TC.

The first question that should be asked here, is: How did you go about troubleshooting to determine the gauge itself is bad?
