Will an aftermarket wiring harness hurt resale??

I'm thinking of buying an aftermarket harness from the aftermarket for my '67 and was wondering if it would hurt resale.......if I ever had to put it on the market. My car is not a numbers matching car so it may not matter at all. My car has all of the wiring/dash parts/etc in a box and it looks like its had a few cuts and splices. I have the original 4-speed and 12 bolt but the engine is long gone. Your input is greatly appreciated!!

Not at all, it might even enhance the value slightly.

The Harnesses I've purchased from American Autowire are identical (except for wear, tear, dirt, and grime) to the originals. After a summer of cruising no one can tell the difference.

I agree with the guys. I put a Haywire harness in my last project, recommend it highly. Get rid of those old brittle wires and glass fuses, add some circuits for new stereo, electronics. If I'm buying, it's a plus, as long as it is installed properly.

Wes, replace your old wire with American auto wire and have no worry's of the car breaking down do to bad wiring. I would say it would increase the value.

I'm a big proponent of new wiring, anyway. Why would I trust my restoration that cost thousands of dollars to 40+ year old wiring?

I would not use Painless brand wiring. I would say that would hurt the value.
