250 Chevy engine torque specs...

Does anyone have the torque specs for the chevy 230/250 series engine? I cannot find the torque specs anywhere and I need them to assemble the engine. Does anyone know where I could find them online? I'm talking about the torque specs for the crankshaft, connecting rods, cylinder head torque sequence and etc. Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Re: 250 Chevy engine torque specs...

I put your title into google and this was the first responce: "The following is from an early 70's Motor's repair manual for 250 Chevy 6;headbolts-95 ft lbs for the head bolts. Some say the left front headbolt only should be 85.Rods 35,mains 65,flywheel 60,intake 30."

I never make mistakes, but on occasion I present myself with an opportunity to get very creative.

That gets me into the ballpark, but I don't know in what sequence to tighten the headbolts in.

Re: 250 Chevy engine torque specs...

95 Foot pounds (Final torque)

Note:
Torque sequence front ------------------
of | 14 10 6 2 3 7 11 |
engine | 13 9 5 1 4 8 12 |
------------------
Final torque must be reached in 3 equal steps
Recheck final torque in sequence

I coppied this from www.autozone.com . They have repair specs online.
