65 Chevelle-Drum Brakes, Single Master to Dual Master

I have a 65 Chevelle Convertible, currently has drum brakes and a single cylinder master with no booster.
I want to add a power brake booster and would like to convert to a dual master cylinder. I have tall valve covers and I'm pretty sure I'm limited to using a 9" brake booster vs 11". I can find the 11" booster with the dual master for a 67 Chevelle but I haven't found a 9" booster with a dual master.
I purchased a 67 chevelle 11" booster with dual master and a 9" booster from O'rielly's and the master cylinder wouldn't bolt on the 9". Bolt centers worked but I had approx. 3/4" of gap between the booster and the master, wouldn't go down all the way.
Does anyone know where I could get a 65 Chevelle 9" brake booster with a dual master cylinder for drum brakes?
Or a way around it?
Thanks
Al

Might try Classic Performance Products for a booster/master set.

If not going to disc brakes, consider using brake lines for a 67.
Also get the distribution block that mounts on the frame---I think 67 only

I used all the lines for a 67 in my 66 when I went to power brakes and a dual master.
(67 distribution block as well)

Also installed discs, but will wait until I drive the car before deciding on a proportioning valve.

Re: 65 Chevelle-Drum Brakes, Single Master to Dual Master

Thanks Bryan
I know the booster and master can be mounted and plumbed from a 67'. Although the 11" booster most likely won't work with my tall valve covers-clearance issue.

My concern is with the larger master piston for disc brakes. I've heard that the brakes become very touchy/sensitive. I assume this is from the increased flow/pressure going into the smaller diameter wheel cylinder vs the bigger bore of a disc brake piston.

Thanks

Try The Right Stuff Co. That's where I got mine.

I'm happy with my 1-1/8" bore «disc» m/c with my all-drum car. I said it often and will repeat it again:

«I wouldn't go back to a 1" bore.»
