Question LS1 REAR BRAKE CONVERSION/proportioning valve

I HAVE A 1971 cutlass supreme convertible [ A-BODY ]
the factory set up is power disc up front and drum rear
i want to use the rear disc brakes off a late model camaro 1998-2002
LS1 CAR can i use my factory combination valve or do i need to install a proportioning valve if leave the factory set (combination valve)up on will this still work?
