Stainless Exhaust Systems

In your opinion, who offers the highest quality stainless steel exhaust systems (preferably 304) for our cars, with X or H pipe?

Clint,
I watch a lot of the car shows/dram on TV and Borla is a commonly used SS exhaust. They may be sponsoring some of the shows, but I know they have no ties to Kindig "Bitchen Rides" and they use their systems exclusively if they don't custom make it.
IMO they are the best or at least one of the best builders out there and they would never use anything but the best.

FWIW I have no ties to Borla either.

I guess Borla is ok but having owned three ZR-1's, most of us disliked the Borla stuff.
Maybe their musclecar exhaust systems are pretty good. Wonder how it compares to Magnaflow?

Re: Stainless Exhaust Systems

magnaflow are pretty good, I prefer pypes but they are very loud some install them back wards because it makes them a touch quieter and so they say they sound better that way. I had them on my mustang and liked them a lot I had the violator series it is a baffle design so no packing to mess with later on but they are louder then some other brands.

Burns Stainless as far as components go..

These collectors I have of theirs are a perfectly constructed, welded and nothing short of a work of art.

As for mufflers, I have Borla. Very nicely made also..

Those look great, shame to hide them under a car. Heading off to check out the site.

Re: Stainless Exhaust Systems

Pypes pipes with borla mufflers. Last I looked borla didn't make pipes for my car. They sound great even with no carpet and interior driving and talking isn't an issue with carpet door panels etc itl be even better.

Do you have the Pro XS or XR1 mufflers?

Re: Stainless Exhaust Systems

For a 3.5" full system Pypes at least makes a X-pipe kit from the headers back to the mufflers. I had to fabricate the tailpipes out of 304 that I sourced from truck tailpipes from Advanced Auto. I forget who made them but the stock was relatively cheap. Making them yourself is a challenging project.

Their site doesn't list anything for an A-body, let alone a complete system. Got a part number or two, Jon? Gary?

$3,200 for a pair of headers? And we thought Lemon headers were expensive.
