Re: WATER PUMP pulley to thick for fan clutch to fit

What pulley?

I have a billett specialties water pump pulley, and it is indeed thicker. However...the pilot on the snout of the waterpump does go all the way through the pulley(I actually even have a shim behind the water pump to help with belt alignment). Granted...it barely comes out with the thickness of the pulley and shim together, but it still comes out just enough to get into the fan spacer.

FYI its a stewart stage 1 water pump, so basically a stock casting pump with the guts prepped by stewart.

Wonder if its the pilot on your water pumps fault? The billet specialties pulley works with a water pump using a pilot thats stock or the same length as stock(big block chevy long water pump app).

Re: WATER PUMP pulley to thick for fan clutch to fit

pump shaft .420"

pulley .360"
pulley inner bushing .470"

I will take the inner shim and the pulley to the machine shop make it fit , I only need like .080 shaft in the fan clutch to be safe ,I hope ...

I got a new but damage Weiand 8242 water pump and the shaft is .470", this pump was stored after I installed and noticed the fan clutch wont fit the pump ,so after 1 year in the box the pump is lock and I dont want to install it .

Any repair kit for the weiand 8242 pump?
