BBC Race Rite users

Trying to talk a friend of mine to go with these over a set of Edelbrocks, but the Eddy prices are pretty good. Did you find that the stock length pushrods were pretty close? This alone would add about a hundred dollars or so to the swap. All the threaded holes where they need to be, including the temp sensor?

Re: BBC Race Rite users

I haven't recieved mine yet, but i think the pushrods on some need to be .100 longer from what i understand. Not the case on all though. Have him call Mike and get a price from him?

Re: BBC Race Rite users

On my Brodix RRO, stock length pushrods were the correct length for proper geometry. I am also using Yella Terra 1.7 rockers. The pipe threads are in the same place as stock, as far as I can tell, but I use the ones in the intake.

Re: BBC Race Rite users

I had to get longer pushrods. Not .100 longer...I am thinking they were about .050 longer. The stock ones were close but to get it right on I had to go longer. Every combo will be different, so it is hard to generalize whether you will or won't need longer pushrods. Some do and some don't.

Re: BBC Race Rite users

All bolt holes and threads were in stock location. I liked a longer pushrod on mine , but block was decked some. Stock would have worked , I went .050 longer.
Have you checked with Wolf on a set ?

My block is decked also, believe mine are .080 long. They are the best,bolt-on,direct replacement aluminum head you'll find and they perform pretty good too

As has been said the RR is as close to a true "bolt on" head as I have ever used
Pushrod length is just to combination specific to give a true answer & the Ede head may or may not need a different one too

Tell your buddy to give me a call, I can probably save him a few bucks on the RR heads & he may find they are a lot closer to the Ede head price wise than some think,,,,

Re: BBC Race Rite users

I seem to remember a slightly different pushrod needed for the Eddys when I ran them, but its been so long. I'm aware of all the variables regarding pushrods, but just trying to convince him the RaceRites are where its at. Eddy has a $50.00 coupon right now - so I gotta deal with that right now!!!

Thanks fellas

Re: BBC Race Rite users

I also re-used my stock length one piece Comp Cam High Tech 3/8's pushrods and everything seems to be just fine.
