Best headers for 402

I'm looking at buying a new set of headers for my 69 chevelle. I am unsure of what company to go with and also the different tube sizes. Do I go with the 1 3/4 tube with 3" collector or the 2" with 3" collector.

I think you will be happy with the fit and performance of the ceramic coated
1 3/4" tubes. Dynomax or Hedman fit very well.

Re: Best headers for 402

I have 2" tubes with 3 1/2" collectors on my 402 and I wish I had the smaller size. 1 3/4" is plenty big for most 402's

Re: Best headers for 402

! 3/4" if stock or mildly modded, larger only if seriously built.

Re: Best headers for 402

Go with the Hedman Elite 1.75" x 3" and don't look back. Had them on my 402 and now on my 454 motor. Actually a little quieter also due to the 14 gauge tubing.

Re: Best headers for 402

I'd second the Elites. Great fit, noticeably quieter and the ball/socket collector is fantastic.
