Question over Holley 12-803 pressure regulator

Normally the way you hook this up is the line from the fuel pump goes to the bottom and then the side(s) hook to the carb inlets.

My question is this: could I hook the line from the pump to one of the outlets for the carb and then hook the other side to the carb and plug up the bottom?

Would this work at all?

I dont believe you can do that JYD. I think you would need the 12-803BP regulator which is the bypass and then you can plug the bottom. As the inlet is on the side, outlet on the other side, and bypass out the bottom.

No, think of it as a spring loaded check valve. The fuel on the bottom opens the valve against spring pressure. Going in from the sides would hold it closed.

Re: Question over Holley 12-803 pressure regulator

Thanx....well that's a bummer....as it may be difficult trying to install it on my dual feed line off the carb....looks like I'll need to run a 90 degree elbow underneath but that may actually interfere with hitting the intake...guess I'll have to try it and see....

Re: Question over Holley 12-803 pressure regulator

Do you have a sump in the gas tank or a return line to the tank? If so, why not use the 12-803BP, run the return line back with the by pass port. Then use a fuel log for the dual feed carb, and only have to run one line?
