68 Chevelle paint scheme

I have a 68 Malibu that 'i'm going to paint 68 Fathom Blue. The body shop wants to finalize the paint layout so he can get the paint from his supplier. I'm adding the chrome from the headlights to tail lights and the SS stripes.
My question is: on some or all of the cars that have these accents the portion of the body below the chrome/stripes, it looks like its painted black. Does the black start at the stripes or at the chrome. I'm basing my question off of the pic on the Chevellestuff website of the 68 Fathom Blue Chevelle that they have. That look is what I'm going for.

Thanks,
Eric

The transition between body color and the black occur under the trim.

You might want to buy the rear trim that was on the SS cars.

Thanks for the help. The car didn't have the Chrome trim when I got so I bought the trim from the headlights to the tail lights. It did have the Chrome around the wheelwells, i'll put that on also. Thanks again, I really appreciate the help.

Yet strangely in 1968 there was no wheel well trim. To be correct you should not put this part back on.

Except for the Concours model.

If you try to install the wheel trim, you may run into problems with the fit of the side trim hitting it and not fitting properly.

Re: 68 Chevelle paint scheme

I figured the wheel well trim was put on later by the previous owner. I hadn't thought about the wheel well trim interfering with the horizontal trim, thanks for the tip.
Thanks,
Eric
