Ground Up Not Discounting Team Chevelle Anymore!

Ground Up, or SS396.com, is no longer supporting Team Chevelle.

I placed an order the other day and never got a discount. Emails went unanswered. Until I finally got one that stated that they no longer sponsor Team Chevelle. It was apparent that I was duped out of my 10% discount; so I put an item in the cart, and opened the Comment Section in the Checkout where it said to insert your user name for your 10% Team Chevelle discount, took a screen shot, and sent it to them. Now it's four days later and I get another reply stating that they no longer support Team Chevelle:

"Hi Mark,
I apologize for the inconvenience, we no longer sponsor TeamChevelle and that discount is not available. We credited you for the 10%discount on your order. Thank you for bringing this error to ourattention. We appreciate your business."

Just thought that you'd want to know. Yes, they removed Team Chevelle from the discounted site list at the Checkout. Team Camaro and Nasty Z/28 still remain as the only two left on the disount list.

Re: Ground Up Not Discounting Team Chevelle Anymore!

They have been sending me and my friend correspondence every once in awhile through e-mail asking if they can help us with anything for our cars. Maybe business is down who knows. Don't really think it's a good decision on their part.

NPD seems to be the supplier of choice.

Re: Ground Up Not Discounting Team Chevelle Anymore!

If you put items in your cart, go to checkout, and then back out they will send an email asking if there's anything they can help with. I sent them a heart felt reply.

Yeah, either NPD or Restoration World in Dayton, Oh. NPD's search engine is hosed up sometimes. Even something as trivial as leaving an "S" off to make the part singular will not yield good search results. I called one time because I just couldn't find the part I was after and the CSR had to go back in the warehouse to get the name of the part because he couldn't find it on the computer or catalog. Fun stuff!

Re: Ground Up Not Discounting Team Chevelle Anymore!

Mark, unless I'm reading their email reply wrong, it sounds like they still gave a 10% discount on the order, "We credited you for the 10% discount on your order"...

Re: Ground Up Not Discounting Team Chevelle Anymore!

I'm one of the lucky ones, GU is in the next town over from me so I just run down if I need something. I've had pretty good luck with them over the years even though others have not. I've been pretty much done doing things to my car for the last couple of years but every once in awhile something does come up but I don't limit myself from buying from others if I want too.

I haven't checked yet, and I have no reason to doubt that they gave me the discount. It took several emails to get it though. I did everything correctly as stated on the Checkout instructions, but received no discount.

I use Ground up sometimes for big orders and I relied on that 10%. Now, they don't offer it anymore, and that was the reason for posting the FYI. Just to tell people that they don't offer a %10 discount.

Re: Ground Up Not Discounting Team Chevelle Anymore!

I think the TC discount stopped about year or two ago. They constantly email me "10% off on orders over $99" and I even got a 15% off on any purchase.
Plus, they are only about 2 miles from my home

Thats why I love the Summit website... Its amazing how easy it is to navigate, and I honestly can NOT recall any other on-line places that have such a good website... Even Amazon pales by comparison...

And Summit does carry a limited selection of "restoration" parts, and often has better prices and better shipping...

I do end up using NPD a lot lately...

Suck's about Ground Up NOT offering the Team Chevelle discount any more... For me, Ground Up has/had some nice stuff, decent prices, but shipping times and costs seemed a little high... I am West Coast, so that 10% discount often made the difference...

I still pay shipping for NPD (400+ miles away), but for large items (floor pans, door glass and windshields/back glass), I pick it up myself (my in-laws live about 20 miles away, and we visit a few times a year). The counter guys are great, and they even give me lots of packing materials...

Yes. After trying most of the popular Chevelle parts vendors over the last 20 years, IMO NPD is the best.
