What happened to monster jam?

I hope that televised monster jam did not die with the speed channel. I love monster jam. Blown big blocks with 1500 hp. 30 feet in the air. Come on now. Those shows bring huge crowds and I dont have it any more on my direct tv. I am pissed. Baaa hum bug.

According to an article in the latest Popular Hot Rodding, all of the programs from Speed channel are DOA.

Not all of them. Some are on MavTV, some are on Velocity, and some are on Fox Sports 1 & 2. A lot of the shows on Speed were already DOA and they were just reruns over and over!

I never make mistakes, but on occasion I present myself with an opportunity to get very creative.

Re: What happened to monster jam?

with speed going away I think it is finally time to cancel these special channels and go back to basic cable. I can spend the extra 30 plus a month on something more entertaining than diners, drive ins and dives.

Re: What happened to monster jam?

It was pretty clear to me that when they changed the name from Speed to Fox Sports 1 that they were just making room for more football etc. Maybe some of the other networks will pick up the slack and provide more automotive-based programming. Thanks for the great run Dave Despain!

they still broadcast football? I haven't paid attention to that sport since they let the dog torturer back into football.

more importantly than Monster Jam: where are people gonna go on the weekend to see 20 hours of rich people bidding on overpriced old cars now?

I haven't been able to watch much tv lately. I didn't hear SPEED was on the way out! Figures! At least we still have Power Block.

Re: What happened to monster jam?

Did you see the line up Regis Philbin is one of the hosts who the hell wants to watch an 80 year old rant about sports. Maybe they can hire some of the old bags from THE VIEW and and help REGIS. RIP SPEED CHANNEL

Re: What happened to monster jam?

Regis is a household name, and he does know his sports... also, confused people think he's funny for some reason.

if there is a market for it, someone else will come up with something to replace SPEED.. it might take some time, but if people demand it they will make it. there are a few alternatives that kinda sorta do different pieces of what SPEED did, but over time a "winner" will rise above the rest.

Re: What happened to monster jam?

I know what I will do. I am going to take the 57 chevy body off of the AVENGER and get a 69 Chevelle body on it. Then I am going to take it to the parking lot of Fox1 and try all of the parking spots. During business hours. Here is my life. Go to work. Play with kids and wife, work on Chevelle, and watch monster jam. Guess I will have to do one of the other three more often now.

Re: What happened to monster jam?

i'd like to see Spike take the initiative and buy the rights to some of SPEED's old car shows and add an extra hour or 2 to the Powerblock... then it would kinda sorta be like the old TNN days, and they could get rid of a couple of hours of that crap that they call programming on that channel...
