funny names for prescription drugs..

what's with the stupid names they think up for drugs these days?
right now, i have the tv on in the background, and i heard an add for something called "Ass effects", so i just had to look and see what it was all about. it was something called "Aciphex" that i think had something to do with controlling heartburn..
can you just imagine the young 20-something marketing people snickering as they pitched the name for their new acid reflux drug to the CEO of the drug company?

I always thought "Buttblowtazeem" would be a good name for a laxative.

Re: funny names for prescription drugs..

when i posted this thread, i was talking about an actual, honest to god for real ad i saw on tv for drugs that have a name that is a play on what it does, with a somewhat funny sounding name.
can anyone think of any other funny sounding drug names that you are supposed to ask your doctor about at your next visit? you know- the ones in the commercials they spend 5 seconds saying how wonderful they are, then they spend the other 25 seconds of the commercial warning you about all the fun side effects that generally range from a slight itch to death..

As usual, Andy is right
If it doesn't fit, force it. If it breaks, it needed to be replaced anyway.

Re: funny names for prescription drugs..

Did you know the main ingredient in pills of all kinds, especially asprin, is paper? It is used as a filler. My sales rep for Chemprene conveyor belting calls on a Bayer asprin plant and asked the purchasing agent why do they use such a huge amount of paper in an asprin plant. He told him it was a filler and all the drug manufacturers use tons of it as the bulk of the drug they make. It was something I sure didn't know.
