Hi Gang,

How should the positive battery cable be routed to the starter? This is a '69 Chevelle SS with 396, automatic, A/C, power steering, power brakes.

Thanks for any help,

Get a '69 assembly manual. You'll find it very helpful. If you need this page scanned, I can do that, but it may not come out very good.

The positive cable runs off the battery down to the right side of the block. There should be 2 u-shaped clips on, I believe, the #2 and #4 oil pan bolts that it rests in. Then it's a straight shot to the starter.

Hope this helps.

Thanks a lot, Rick. Thanks especially for letting me know where to find the information next time I need it. I have the Chassis Service Manual and the Body Service Manual, but neither was much help. I'll pick up an assembly manual with my next Year One order.
