Tom Turner's '72 Chevelle

1972 CHEVELLE

TOM & JOYCE TURNER WEST PALM BCH, FL

.

This car was purchased in Miami, Fl., one month after Hurricane Andrew roared through South Florida. All windows were blown out, the roof destroyed, and left rear quarter panel mangled. The roof had to cut off and another roof section was welded into place. Window glass and various other parts were found in salvage yards in Kentucky, Vermont and Florida. The engine is a 350 cu in small block- bored 30 over, new pistons, Competition Cam, 280 degree duration (just enough to give it that 'lope'). Edelbrock manifold and 650 carburetor.

To redo a car you need three major things:

  1. 1. Time (Approximately 2 1/2 years)
  2. 2. Money (ARE YOU KIDDING)
  3. 3. Friends (Paint and Body---Scott Lite) (Engine Work---Tim Riddell) (Hours of cleaning--Jason Turner-son)

It was alot of work, but alot of fun. Ready to do it again.
PS. It also takes a verrrrrry understanding and patient wife. I give many thanks to her--JOYCE TURNER. For over two years, all she heard was---"Honey, I'll be out in the shop working on "OUR" car."
