My name is Brady Hall and I am from Cedar City, Ut. I am 18 years old. This is my 68 malibu ragtop.I decided when I was a senior in high school that I would like to restore a classic car. I didn't have any experience working with cars at all, but I jumped right into the project and have learned tons. The outside appearance is about the same as when I bought it down in vegas.

I decided I didn't like what was going on with the interior, so I stripped out the old dash and wiring. I re-wired the car, and installed a covan's classic dash with auto meter guages, quite an endeavor for no experience, but it was worth it. Since then I have installed a serious sony/rockford fosgate sound system and a security system to protect my prized possesion and give me piece of mind when parking it in a dark parking lot. Some other interior work such as carpet and insulation have been accomplished.

When I got it there was a smokin motor under the hood. A 70 454 with 67 427 heads. It was a sweet setup, but oil pressure was lost and it would require a rebuild. We decided to go with a 454 H.O. gm crate motor because of reliability and warranty. It runs strong. you don't want to line up with this car unless you are packing some serious power. I like to call it the rice-rocket eater.
We also painted the inside of the engine bay a bright red. It looks terrific. Behind the engine is a th350 with a shift kit. The rearend currently is a 10 bolt with 3:08, but in the next week a 12 bolt with 3.55 is going in. The car is a blast. It is truly a head turner.
I am pretty proud of my work as a novice mechanic. It obviously needs some body work, which is planned for this summer. After the show quality body, Watch Out! this car will be smokin.
This car is no trailer queen. I drive it every chance that I get. It is hard in UT sometimes because of the rapidly changing weather, and it has sadly it has seen some snow and rain.
