1969 Chevelle Malibu

Matthew Silicki

State College, Pennsylvania

I picked up my dream car last summer in North Carolina after a grueling search.

This car needed very little restoration to get it show ready, and very little to get it ready for driving. It is pretty much factory original. It was made in Lakewood, GA, in the 3rd week of Aug. in '69 with lt. aqua interior.

march99a.jpg - 9938 Bytes It now has 74,000mi and came with factory air and a 350 w/300hp. The orig color was Azure turqoise, but needed a re-paint pretty bad. It even came with 14x7 rally wheels (being repainted). With a little work and time, it is now restored to factory '69 dusk blue polymetallic. and alum. trim. For now it sports baby moons and studded winter tires. Yep, this baby is my everyday car here at Penn state, and I love it. I'm even squeezing close to 20mpg out of it!

Everything that has been changed in the engine, including the hood, I have stored, so someday I can totally restore it to factory specs.

P.S., I also have another UNRESTORED '72 chevelle malibu at home. You can see a pic of it as well as my dad's classic car at www.usaor.net/users/starwest/foxbow/
