This is a 1966 Chevelle 2 door sport coupe that has been converted into a SS clone.
I picked up the car in the summer of 1999 and have done a lot of upgrades, to the drive train mostly. The graphics are all painted, not pin stripped. The car is powered by a BIG BLOCK 454 with a mild 600-lift cam and rectangular port heads. It has gold roller rockers by Crane and a Holley 850 carb on top of a Team "G" intake. The lower half is a 9 to 1 compression with a forged crank. The trans was built by Finish Line Performance out of Naperville IL. He used all Coan Engine Products and man can this guy build a trans. The converter is a Coan 10" with a 4000 stall and trans break. It has a steel drive shaft the runs back to a Ford 9' rear end which has a Detroit Locker 411 gear with a nice Ladder Bar & Coil Over Suspension. The ignition is powered by a MSD 6al with a 2-step rev limit and a Mallory distributor.
This car also has a 12pt roll cage. I race the car in the summer and it turns in very consistent times, lifting the tires about 6" off the ground and always goes straight. It is a lot of fun to drive on the street also.
Of course the gas mileage is bad HA,HA.Lenny Bryson
