I found my Chevelle for sale on the internet. It was a private owner located in Canada. He had bought it from two boys in Georgia who had spent years putting it together, but just did not have the resources to finish it. After three months of emails, we finally agreed on a price and I had it shipped to Florida.
That was a year and half ago. I have done a lot on it, but there is a ways to go. I am not trying to build a numbers perfect car. I have always wanted a muscle car that I could drive and not worry about. The result so far is a very, very fast car that is fun to drive and shows good at all the local shows.
Here is some info on the car:
It was built in Texas in 1971 as a Chevelle SS with a 454 365HP. That motor is gone and it now has a 1970 LS-6 454 completely rebuilt with some goodies added such as:
K & N Air Filter, 850 Holley Double Pumper on top of a GM Aluminum intake off a 427, LS-6 Rectangular Port Heads, Competition Cam and 4-Bolt Main. HEI Distributor, MSD 6A Ignition with 8.5 mm wires. Hooker Headers, 2 1/2" Flowmaster Exhaust with crossover pipe. M22 4-speed Muncie with Hurst Shifter, 12 Bolt Posi rear end with 3.55 Richmond gears and Strange Axles. C & E 3 Position Racing Shocks, Front and Rear Heavy Duty Sway bars and Polyurethane bushings replacing all the old.
Mickey Thompson Street Slicks with Centerline Rims. A new AC system from Customair.
Thanks Again for a great Web Site and all your help.
