The car is a 1971 El Camino SS454, one of 381 built with the LS-5 engine, TH400 trans and cowl induction.
It was an abandoned project from a good friend of mine, Alan Finley. The car is a real SS with a/c, tilt steering, remote mirror and a gauge dash with a 6,500 rpm redline tach.
It is Daytona Yellow with a Sandalwood interior, and the engine is a 468 that is stock appearing from the outside, with iron manifolds, intake and a QuadraJet. The car was a father and son project that never got finished, and its history is documented at www.1971elcamino.com
It was finished just in time for Chevelleabration 2006 after a year of hard work. I plan to show and shine every chance that I get this summer, and I have a few upgrades and improvements planned for this winter.
This is the 6th Chevelle that I have built and the end is nowhere in sight!
