I found the car in a pasture, rusted, and full of weeds. For $500.00 I got to drag it home.
Over the years it got new quarter panels, glass hood, bumpers, doors and trunk lid. I started with a 427 then a 468 and now I just dropped a Scott Shafiroff 540 in it. It has a Trans-King T-400 with a reverse manual valve body and trans-brake. The rearend is a 12 bolt narrowed by Pyle Bros. with 4.88 gears and 32.0x14.5x15 Good Year Eagles. Rik King of Street Rod Concepts welded in the cage and rear frame rails and installed all the tin work.
In spite of all the fiberglass, lexan, and aluminum, the car still weighs 3250 lb.. The ignition is all MSD with a 7AL2, crank trigger and pro power coil. I am replacing the 4200 stall with a 5400 stall and changing my carburetion up a bit.
As it is right now it runs 9.40's on the motor and 8.90's with very little assistance from the Fogger system.
I hope to get the car in the low nine's or high eight's without the nitrous, then maybe we'll see.................hopefully the rearend will hold up.
I live 50 miles South of Houston in a town called Clute, Texas. I have not been able to reach my goals (times) yet due to the HEAT down here, but maybe when the cooler weather gets here I'll be able to make it happen.
Mike.
