Try A 1969 Assembly Manual
GS: Where can I find the factory assembly instructions for mounting a Factory GM Rear sway bar on a '67 Malibu convertible? My assembly manual lists an F40 suspension package option, but doesn't illustrate it.JS: I added a rear sway bar to my 1967 SS when I restored it. The bar itself faces the rear of the car when installed. The bend in the bar or "dip" goes under the pinion on the rear end. You still also need the boxed rear control arms. These are also available in reproduction for about $90.00. I also used grade 8 bolts to attach the bar. I am guessing that the installation would be the same for a convertible as it was for my hardtop.
GS: The complete diagram for layout and parts for the rear swaybar is in the '69 and later assembly manuals. You can drill the non-boxed control arms and install the swaybar on them. Just put spacers inside the swaybar to keep the bolts from crushing them when tightened. If you are handy with a welder, you can box any of the Chevelle control arms yourself.
