Sway Bars Were Not Designed As Jacking Points.

C.M. :   I have a rear anti sway bar on my 1966. The transmission shop I use has the type of lift where the rear braces cradle the axle; however, the cradle must rest on the sway bar instead, supporting the car. Is there risk of damage?

S.C. :   I would not trust it Chris. It is cast iron, and the possibility exists that it could break under the weight of the car. It was not designed to be a jacking point.
