No Problem

WC: I plan to purchase a 1970 Chevelle Malibu that reportedly has a 10 bolt rearend with a 3.08 gear. If the horsepower in this car never exceeds 400hp, is there a real advantage of changing to a 12 bolt rearend using the TH350 transmission? How do I determine by visual inspection if the 3.08 is a Positraction or single traction?

BT: This car will have the 8.5" 10-bolt rearend which is strong. To check for Positraction, jack the car up in the rear. With car in neutral hand turn one of the tires. If the other tire spins the opposite direction, it is an "open" end rear. If they spin the same direction, it is a Positraction.
